BARBICAN EXHIBITION
“Create a visual identity for the ‘Our Time On Earth’ exhibition, hosted by the Barbican Centre.”
This was a live brief project with the aim being to create a visual identity for the “Our Time On Earth” exhibition, hosted by the Barbican Centre. The focus was to transform the conversation on the climate emergency, presenting radical visions and possible outcomes for the future of all species.
Required was a billboard, banner and flyer design, alongside some merchandise concepts and a set of posters. All of which needed to express the Barbican’s brand identity and follow their guidelines.

The visual identity needed to reflect the typographic/image treatment of Barbican’s already established brand. It also needed to help memorialise the exhibition and the institution that held it. The result had to represent a contemporary and visually exciting solution that also challenged the current graphic design landscape.
For this, I used elements of “anti-design” for the layout to give it a less conventional and more experimental style. Pairing the imagery of our achievements as a species with an elemental colour scheme helps to represent the core value of the exhibition and its aims.
